19 Foods to Protect Children from Cancer

Prof. Dr. Atila Tanyeli from Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Department at Memorial Şişli Hospital made a proposal to families with immunocompromised cancer patients and to protect against cancer.

Cruciferous: It turns into active compounds in the body like sulforaphane. These also have an anticarcinogenic effect.

Garlic: Because of its antibiotic properties, it strengthens the immune system and reduces cholesterol by providing blood flow.

Tomato: Protect from cancer, has the characteristic of slowing the mental and physical aging. It is also rich in vitamin C and strengthens the immune system.

Spinach: It is a very effective vegetable against cancer, heart diseases, and high blood pressure.

Cabbage: It provides discharge accumulative toxic substances from the body.

Broccoli: It is a vegetable full of a vitamin to protect against cancer. Contains Beta-carotene and C vitamins.

Apricot: Protects against cancer by removing the effects of molecules that damage cells and tissues.


Beans: Rich in antioxidants such as vitamin C and beta-carotene to prevent heart disease and cancer.

Carrot: As the consumption of carrots increased, the risk of cancer decreased. The main reason is to rich in antioxidants such as beta-carotene, vitamins C and E.

Chickpeas: Chickpeas with low fat and no cholesterol are rich in calcium, magnesium, beta-carotene and folic acid.

Onion: Strengthens the immune system. Provides a protective effect against the stomach and intestine cancer by containing allicin and sulfur.

Peach: It is rich in beta-carotene, which protects against cancer and heart attack. A peach meets 50 percent of your daily vitamin C needs.

Rice: rich in E and B vitamins. There is a protective effect against bowel cancer, lowering cholesterol and reducing the risk of heart attack.

Red grape seeds: The polyphenolic components contain proanthocyanidins and tocopherol. These are antioxidants. Cancer prevention effects are available.

Stinging nettle: It strengthens the immune system.
