20-20-20 Rule for Eye Restrain

Glaucoma namely eye pressure is the second most common cause of vision loss in the world after cataract, is quietly developing and can reduce the quality of life. Ankara Memorial Hospital Ophthalmology Department, Dr. Bekir Sıtkı Aslan gave suggestions for the sedentary profession.

“Person who works at the desk all day and looks at the computer screens can apply the 20-20-20 rule to relieve their eyes. Looking  20 steps forward every 20 minutes for 20 seconds reduces eye fatigue, can contribute to the regulation of intraocular pressure. In addition, certain exercises such as weightlifting or yoga positions can increase the pressure in the eye. Therefore, before starting a new exercise plan for glaucoma prevention or treatment, an expert should be consulted.”
