Do Not Eat 2 Hours Before The Chemotherapy

From Emsey Hospital Diet and Nutrition Specialist Evnur Saray highlighted the role of nutrition during chemotherapy.

“On days when chemotherapy is taken, a light meal or snack should be preferred, especially before chemotherapy. It is recommended consumption of small portions, frequent low-fat and lean foods, and not eating 1-2 hours before treatment.

Nutrients recommended for nausea and vomiting are; flavored drinks such as ginger ale, mint/lemon candies, vegetables and mashed potatoes are passed from the blender and crackers. Making a liquid restriction during meals, consuming cold foods instead of hot foods will prevent nausea and vomiting. For example, fruity ice cubes will be good for vomiting.”
