First Customized Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatment Center

“Underwater Medicine and Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Center” that was opened in Koç University Hospital have begun to admit patients in single cabins firstly in Turkey.

Among the diseases that are treated are diabetes, bone infections, vascular occlusions, burns, wounds resulting from radiation therapy as well as diseases that require oxygen to heal. At the same time, hyperbaric oxygen therapy is applied to many diseases such as sudden hearing loss, sudden visual loss due to occlusion in the eye vessels, decompression sickness, which is a result of rapid pressure change during diving and also known as stroke.

Single pressure chambers provide isolation for infected patients, accelerating the patient’s healing process and quality of life.
