Flat Shoes Causes Cartilage Problems

Memorial Şişli Hospital, Orthopedics and Traumatology Department Professor Dr. Bülent Aksoy told the causes of cartilage diseases.

“Flat shoes increase the cartilage problem further. Especially flats shoes and thin-soled slippers trigger the cartilage problem. These shoes do not have the ability to carry the foot. Therefore it causes severe fatigue at foot and imposes the string. An ideal shoe heel height should be about 2.5 centimeters. Thus you should prefer light heels shoes. Because these shoes reduces the muscle tension behind the knee and relax the muscles.”
