His Leg Was Saved By Balloon Angioplasty

53-year-old Mehmet Diyadin Ateş living in Diyarbakır, had a problem due to a blocked leg vein. He did not receive a response from drug treatments and interventions. He couldn’t walk even he was going to lose his leg. As a last resort, he applied Dr. Kerem Toprak, from Interventional Radiology Department at Memorial Dicle Hospital with balloon angioplasty procedure, his leg and foot veins were opened and he started to walk again.

Mehmet Diyadin Ateş, who was discharged from the hospital on foot, expressed his happiness as follows: “I had no hope that my foot would heal, and it was said that the only cure would be cut. After the procedure, the bruising and aches on my foot were gone, I started walking on my own. I am very happy to return to normal life and to be able to walk again. I would like to thank everyone who has contributed to my health.”
