In Order To See Better

October 8 was declared as a “World Sight Day” in order to raise awareness of preventable vision loss. Acıbadem Ankara Hospital Eye Diseases Specialist Doc. Emrah Altıparmak M.D. informed about 8 October “World Sight Day”.

He said that World Sight Day targeted to provide to get eye scannings and examinations regularly with public awareness and avoid the preventable vision loss. “Today 285 million visually impaired people live in the world and 80% of these has preventable diseases. Until 2020 cases of blindness due to glaucoma, cataracts and macular degeneration can be reduced at least 25% by early diagnosis and treatment.”he added.
