International Childhood Cancer Day

15th February is International Childhood Cancer Day. Childhood cancer is a major problem as adult patients all over the world. Types of cancer in children differ from adult cancers in terms of rates of treatment responses and long-term survival.

Childhood cancer that is seen in children at the age of 0-18, is only 1,2% of all cancers. In the worldwide 200,000 children are diagnosed with cancer for the first time. When we add ongoing treatments and relapses this number approaches to 300,000. Leukemia is 30% of all cancers in childhood in the world.
