Kidney stone disease is a disease that affects one out of every 11 people in the society. Diyarbakır Memorial Hospital, Department of Urology Professor Dr. Abdullah Gedik gave information about some foods that should limit the consumption of kidney stone patients.
“One of the riskiest substances in terms of stone formation in the kidney is oxalate. For this reason, oxalate-rich foods need to be removed from the daily diet. Kidney disease patients should limit the consumption of certain foods.
Beverages: Tea, coffee, and alcohol.
Vegetables: Spinach, chard, beets, okra, corn, fresh beans, potatoes, tomatoes, soy, parsley, dill, hibiscus, cress, rocket.
Fruits: Figs, raspberries, red plums, strawberries, blackberries, currants.
Nuts: Walnuts, nuts, almonds, ground nuts.
Sesame, chocolate, cocoa, mustard, soy.”
