Little Girl Maryam Found Her Breath in Turkey
At the age of 11, Iraqi Maryam visited many hospitals abroad due to Pulmonary Alveolar Proteinosis (PAP) disease. The progress of her illness also began to show physical effect, and 11-year-old Maryam returned to view a 5-year-old child. The little girl has become unable to breathe because her lungs accumulated protein.
In Iraq, when doctors say that “we can not operate her” the Iraqi Ministry of Health came into effect and brought Maryam to Emsey Hospital in Istanbul, by supporting the cost of the treatment. The two lungs of the little girl were washed successfully, Maryam returned to her breath.
Maryam Khalid Tabit, who thanked the Turkish doctors, said, “Here I recovered, I began to breathe comfortably, I bought 2 kilos already. Now my only wish is to run and play again with my friends.”
