Pineapple for Edema

Memorial Etiler Medical Center Internal Medicine Department Uz. Dr. Özlem Kaplan gave information about the problem of edema in the summer months and the things to be careful about.

“In the treatment of edema, it is essential to treat the underlying cause first. In addition to this, it would be beneficial to reduce salt consumption, to increase exercise and to consume edible solvent foods. Cucumber, pineapple, parsley, kiwi, green tea and water consumption is the best edema solvent. Apart from this, keeping the temperature of the environment at a certain level, drinking plenty of water, taking frequent showers and not taking long periods in the sun in hot weather are also measures that can be taken.”
