With Robotic Surgery No Trace From Breast Cancer
Robotic surgery, which has been widely used in various branches of the world in many developed countries in recent years and accepted as the “gold standard” in surgery with many vital advantages that it provides for disease, is hopeful to erase the traces of breast cancer this time!
The “surgery trace” vanishes which is an important problem for women thanks to the removal of the breast with robotic surgery (mastectomy) method that is applied by Prof. Dr. Cihan Uras, General Surgeon at Acıbadem Maslak Hospital for the first time in Turkey.
General Surgery Expert Prof. Dr. Cihan Uras “In the classical surgery, the mastectomy method is performed with large incisions applied under the breast, so when you look at it from the outside, the marks are obvious. On the contrary, in robotic surgery, there is no trace in the breast because all the operations are performed with a cut of 5 cm below the armpit. Moreover, the operation can be completed without leaving any breast tissue by enlarging 12 times by the robot. Thus, the risk of tumor formation is also prevented mostly.” said.
